Solihull Council passes Climate Change motion...at last!

11 October 2019

Solihull Council this week approved a motion to lead the way in tackling Climate Change in the borough.

This fantastic news comes after years of Green Party Councillors pushing on this issue, as well as a failed attempt to get a similar motion passed in February of this year. The Council will now be aiming to become carbon neutral by 2030. It will also work with the West Midlands Combined Authority to address the same issue on a regional basis.

Green Party Group Leader, Cllr James Burn, said: "It's taken a long time to get to this point, and we've pushed the Council to go further with its commitments, but we're really pleased that this is happened at long last. We look forward to finally seeing some action on this issue and will be holding the Council to account on its promises".
